Our lab is fully equipped with automated culture systems, biosafety cabinets, microbial identification platforms, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing systems that follow global CLSI and EUCAST standards.
We offer extensive microbiological analysis of specimens including blood, urine, sputum, stool, wound swabs, pus, and sterile body fluids. Our test menu encompasses aerobic and anaerobic cultures, mycobacterial identification (including TB and NTM), fungal cultures, and antibiotic resistance profiling. Special emphasis is placed on rapid diagnostics such as Gram staining, acid-fast bacilli testing, antigen detection, and PCR-based assays for faster turnaround times in critical infections.
Our experienced microbiologists, infection control experts, and lab technologists collaborate to deliver high-quality, reproducible data that support clinicians in making evidence-based therapeutic decisions. This is particularly vital in an era of rising antimicrobial resistance, hospital-acquired infections, and global outbreaks.
We also support public health initiatives by providing pathogen surveillance data, outbreak investigation support, and insights for epidemiological studies. With our robust diagnostic systems, MedCell’s Microbiology Department is a cornerstone in the fight against infectious diseases.
Hematology
The Hematology Department at MedCell Diagnostics is a state-of-the-art laboratory unit dedicated to the diagnosis and monitoring of blood disorders and diseases affecting the hematopoietic system. Utilizing advanced hematology analyzers with multi-parameter capability, coupled with digital morphology and coagulation systems, we provide a wide range of routine and specialized testing services.
Our core services include Complete Blood Count (CBC), peripheral smear examination, reticulocyte count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), coagulation studies such as PT/INR and APTT, D-Dimer testing, bleeding/clotting time, and more. For more complex diagnostics, we offer bone marrow aspiration and biopsy analysis, leukemia and lymphoma workups, and hemoglobinopathy screening (e.g., HPLC for Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia).
Our department plays a critical role in diagnosing conditions such as anemia, infections, blood cancers (like leukemia and lymphoma), clotting disorders (e.g., hemophilia, DIC), platelet abnormalities, and bone marrow failure syndromes. Our team of hematologists and lab scientists follows rigorous quality control and validation protocols to ensure data integrity and clinical reliability.
By integrating modern laboratory practices with personalized interpretation, we support timely and effective patient care for both acute and chronic hematologic conditions.
Cytology
The Cytology Department at MedCell Diagnostics specializes in cellular diagnostics, offering precise and minimally invasive methods for the early detection of cancer, infectious conditions, and inflammatory diseases. Our highly trained cytopathologists and lab technicians employ both conventional and advanced cytological techniques to analyze cellular samples from various body fluids and tissue aspirates.
We offer a comprehensive menu of cytological investigations including Pap smear testing for cervical cancer screening, Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) for palpable and deep-seated masses, and cytological analysis of body fluids such as pleural, peritoneal, synovial, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Our department also handles exfoliative cytology, including urine cytology and bronchial washings.
We utilize advanced staining methods, liquid-based cytology, and high-resolution microscopy to ensure cellular detail is preserved and diagnostic accuracy is enhanced. For challenging cases, immunocytochemistry and molecular adjuncts may be employed to achieve definitive diagnoses.
With a strong emphasis on early cancer detection and efficient sample processing, our Cytology Department plays a vital role in preventive healthcare, oncology diagnostics, and guiding biopsy decisions, thus enhancing clinical outcomes and reducing patient morbidity.
Serology
The Serology Department at MedCell Diagnostics is focused on the detection of antibodies and antigens in blood serum to diagnose infectious diseases, immune responses, and autoimmune conditions. We employ a wide array of immunoassays, including ELISA, chemiluminescence, rapid tests, and immunoturbidimetric assays, ensuring both qualitative and quantitative analysis of key biomarkers.
Our comprehensive testing services cover a wide range of infectious agents such as HIV, Hepatitis B and C, Syphilis, Dengue, Chikungunya, Typhoid, COVID-19, and more. We also conduct autoimmune serology tests like ANA, anti-dsDNA, rheumatoid factor, and anti-CCP, as well as allergy panels and hormone assays.
With the support of automated platforms and a highly skilled team, we ensure precise serological results with fast turnaround times—critical for acute infectious diseases and patient triage. Our stringent validation protocols, cold-chain maintenance, and adherence to biosafety standards guarantee the reliability and safety of our procedures.
The Serology Department is also instrumental in vaccine efficacy assessments and epidemiological surveys, making it an essential part of our diagnostic offerings that bridge clinical medicine, public health, and immunology.
Flow Cytometry
At MedCell Diagnostics, the Flow Cytometry Department provides one of the most advanced diagnostic platforms available today for cellular analysis. Flow cytometry is a laser-based biophysical technology used to count, sort, and profile individual cells in a heterogeneous mixture based on specific markers on the cell surface or within the cell.
Our lab is equipped with high-parameter flow cytometers capable of analyzing thousands of cells per second with multiparametric staining. The department specializes in immunophenotyping of leukemias and lymphomas, detection of minimal residual disease (MRD), CD4/CD8 T-cell enumeration for HIV monitoring, and diagnosis of primary immunodeficiencies.
We also support transplantation centers with stem cell enumeration and viability studies, and offer platelet function analysis for bleeding disorders. The testing process is managed by experienced immunologists and flow cytometrists who interpret complex data and provide actionable clinical reports.
The department is integral to modern hematology-oncology and immunology, offering deep insights at the cellular level and helping clinicians personalize treatment strategies based on individual immune or malignant profiles.
